This was the first high school graduation star that I created. I used the school colors and chose to not use any paper, but just flourishes and lettering cut from my Cricut. This was also the first time I placed a flower in the center...it just needed something and that finished off the project very nicely :)

This star was created for my youngest step-daughter, Andrea. It was another of my favorite 'red' stars to create. I cut out flourishes from patterned paper and used rub-on flowers and phrases. I also added the flower to this star thanks to Addie. This star also measures 24" tip to tip.

I created this family star for my oldest step-daughter, Ashley. I loved the look of flourishes and rich colors on black. It is definitely a more fashionable design than the previous family stars. This star measures 24" tip to tip. I added the flowers after learning a thing or two from my youngest, Addie :)

My youngest daughter, Addison, created this star (with some help from mom) when she was 7 years old. It was a 'friend' star and we cut out all of their names on my Cricut and used the negatives instead of the letters. She had fun adding glitter glue and the flower...it hangs above her bed and she loves showing it off to her friends!

My daughter Cassidy made this star when she was 10 years old. She is obsessed with basketball! We utilized my Cricut again to cut out the basketball designs and her name. She did a really great job! This star measures 24" tip to tip.

This star was created for my in-laws of their 50th wedding anniversary party. I had not made a bronze star for a couple of years but loved how the sepia-toned photos looked on this one. I kept it simple and completed it in the same layout as those that I made for my two sister-in-laws. They loved it and it was definitely one of my favorite moments of giving.

I created this star for my other sister-in-law at the same time as the one in my previous post. It is the same photos and phrases, just different colors. I also chose to hang this star with ribbon, rather than the hook on the back of the point. Red stars are so much fun to create...and I usually hate red :)

I created this star for my sister-in-law and her family. It was pictures taken at my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. I love this patterned paper...I have found that stripes and polka dots work well with these projects. This was one of the first stars that I used my Cricut Expression to cut phrases to adhere to the star...now I can't stop :)

I loved creating this red star for my sister and her family! It was definitely more bold and the photos were candid shots from their family vacation. I didn't follow as many rules as the first two, but still included coordinating paper and rub-on phrases. I loved the family photo on the top point...it fit perfectly over the point! I looked for those kinds of photos now when I am creating new stars :)

This family star was created for my brother and his family and was also one of my first that I made in the winter of 2007. This star is 32" tip to tip and I used both wallet-size photos and 4x6 photos. It has coordinating patterned paper and numerous rub-on designs. This is one of my favorites! I am currently working on my first 'baby announcement' star for my new little niece born 7/8/09, since she wasn't here yet when this star was made.
This is one of the first of three stars that I created as Christmas gifts in 2007.
I made this star for my parents.
The top point has a picture of each child and their spouse.
One side of each of the other points is dedicated to each of their grandkids
(now there is one more and I am trying to figure out how to add her :)
It is 36" from tip to tip and I used wallet-size photos in order to fit more.
Most of the stars that I have created only have 5-10 photos.
This star also has alternating patterned paper under the photos
and metal monogram letters for each of the kids names.
